About how long is the pile on the first gray fur? Any chance of just getting a yard? I'd be using it for a raccoon tail, and it'd be great to use the same stuff for the head and legs, but it looks as if it's darker at the roots, so it wouldn't be the right color shaved. Unless that's just my monitor? Let me know, thanks!

Hi! The pile is 2 inches long for the longest guard hair strands. Technically the guard hairs go all the way down to the 'roots' of the fur, they aren't tip dyed, so you'd get more of a salt-and-pepper look if you shaved it, just heavy on the pepper :) So it would be darker, but not a solid gray. I would prefer to sell the whole piece, but it's been up for sale for a while, so sure I'd be willing to cut it. Let me know if you're interested!
