This government pisses me off sometimes

Here's the situation:

My dad's girlfriend's grandkids are going to be put up for adoption. What happened along this road is idiotic on many levels.

First: A few years back, one of the grandkids was born with a nutritional deficiency, to the point where there was a danger in him dying. His mom went to the doctor, who gave her loads of advice. She tried everything, none of it worked.

This resulted in Child Services crashing through the skylight to nab her kid, and give custody to said kid's grandmother, until the matter was established that it was not her fault.

14 months later. Yeah.

And now, a few months back, there are 3 grandkids now, and they have been in a foster home for a month. Why?

Um, apparently the boyfriend of their mom was a drug dealer, and the guy left them in a warehouse where the police did a drug bust. FFFFF---

After a month of legal crap, the government decided to put them up for adoption, even though there are several family members who are willing, and capable, of taking custody of the kids. God knows what they've been told over this thing (The oldest is 8 AT BEST), and how screwed up the rest of their lives'll be.

Look, I'm well aware that the mother made mistakes, I  really am. And I'm guessing that the government just decided that the whole family thing was risky, and they MIGHT have reason to.

Fact is, those adorable little tykes are probably scared and confused as hell right now, and things aren't likely to get better anytime soon.
