Yeah, so I didn't get the job that I interviewed for. That doesn't bother me too much. Disappointing, yes, but not depressing. What kinda angered me is a link to an article that one of the librarians I interviewed for sent me. (

You're lucky you had other professional skills and experience to go with your degree. I don't. After I got my BS in chem, I worked at a couple labs, then at a market research position before going to grad school. The only library experience I have is student jobs, which counts for little. Also, I might be able to learn by experience about computer networking, but I really have pretty little computer experience, and no management skills. I took a basic cataloging course, which is required, but didn't opt for the advanced cataloging course. I'm not averse to doing cataloging, however.
If you have any job leads or any other tips, I'd be grateful. I'm gonna have to add your nicks to my messengers.

Your chemistry degree and background might well be leveraged into a job. Corporate libraries are still among the better paying library jobs, and the drug companies and industrial chemical firms all have them. I'm not sure where such positions are most likely to appear, but I'd be willing to bet that the ads in Library Journal or American Libraries are NOT the first place to look ( ... )
