The last Doctor Who post for a while

Sep 30, 2012 11:17

So the last episode with the Ponds happened, and fandom was very... fandom about it.

As was I, with an added dash of lack of sleep, since someone yinake kept me awake on MSN talking about random stupid music and Game of Thrones and Code Geass and what if the Code Geass characters were part of Game of Thrones.

Yes, so, spoilers!

That time I went to New York and we saw the sights retroactively got kinda weird. )

friends, fandom: doctor who, reviews, spoilers

I cried hideously. Danny did as well; his exact reaction was, 'Fuck you, Moffat, he was my favourite companion!'

Those heartstrings, they got horribly tugged.

I still like it more than Rose or Donna's departures, though.

iView so conveniently didn't include the mini-trailer
Ah that reminds me to find it - it didn't work on my tablet - yay it worked on my PC!

I am curious to know what conclusions you came to with regards to your Geass characters in the GoT-verse discussion (though I probably wouldn't be able to follow it for long given how I've not watched GoT yet).

Well, if you've read the books you might also be able to figure it out, so yeah.

But full on comparisons were Shirley as Sansa, and Kallen as Dany, which both work pretty well. Lelouch is probably a Lannister, while Schneizel is more of a Tyrell - just as much of a schemer, but much more subtle and low-key behind the scenes, with a lot less bombast and ego. Suzaku is probably a Stark, though he does sometimes work as later books Jaime (minus the incest). That said, it's mostly because both Suzaku and Jaime are riffs off the Lancelot mythology.

HAHA i haven't even read the books, tbh! So I don't follow, but I was just wondering about the general nature of your discussion ;D I see now that it was more about comparing/swapping roles than trying to see what they'd do if they were in said universe (yes?). I know about the loltwincest though.

Yina has been trying to get me into GoT and I have promised her I will pick it up over the winter vacation.

To be honest "what they'd do" in the GoT universe would end up being pretty similar to canon, given it's medieval fantasy and Code Geass is sort of sci-fi/fantasy in which Britannia has some pretty medieval knights and princesses influence.

So, Suzaku as a knight, Lelouch as a calculation rebellious leader, Shirley as innocent noblewoman, Euphie as the princess striving to be worth more than an arranged marriage, and the Black Knights and Britannian knights and royalty just the same.
