This is perfect. I love how you weave the words together and at the same time weave Angel into his new humanity.

His desolation at surviving and his return to a more mundane life, if anything Angel does can be mundane.

He discovering Buffy by accident - or is it the PTB's design? - and recognising that she is almost as damaged as he. They both do.

Love the last line.

Thank you. I'm happy to have made your day with this. It's good to get back into writing after such a long break from it.

There's a sorta-companion story that goes along with this that tracks Buffy's life post-NFA, but I haven't finished it. That one actually came first, but then I had the inspiration to write something with Angel especially with that prompt and this just came together so nicely. I'll see if I can get the Buffy one finished soon. It's quite different. A lot more dialogue and Lorne makes a guest appearance.
