"Are You Wearing Black?"

Nov 18, 2008 17:12

I've spent a small eternity in the strangest of moods. I think it's my fall mood, that usually comes around the same time every year. I didn't have time to slip into it during the month of October, so now that it's nearly Christmas I find myself entirely indifferent to most things. I've given up on saving money for the rest of November, because I'm ( Read more... )

I was worried about becoming an alcoholic too, as it runs in my family (dad's side). And yeah, I show signs, like the blacking out. BUT, my mom only drinks when she goes out clubbing and social gatherings (if there's drinking involved, and even then she doesn't drink a lot.) and she said she has her blackout days (and get this, after she blacked out at a club once, she bawled. haha...) So I think I'm safe in the alcoholic department, and I think you will be too because you're not drinking by yourself yet, right? If we're just drinking at social situations, and able to control it, it's fine.

I want to go to Heroes, but I'm scheduled to work until 10pm that day - but maybe I can still go. Get home, dress up real quick, and have my handy dandy mom drop me off... I shouldn't let her know its 80s night, she wants to check it out, watch her follow me inside. Hopefully I'm in the right frame of mind that night. I want to go to Crux too, but I have no money and I work tonight too. Let me know how i:scintilla is.

I didn't even drink last night. There were so many people on the floor and everyone was walking into me, and I figured I would've worn more of it than I drank of it. You need to come to Heroes next weekend. We don't usually even get there until 11, so you'll be fine! I need moral "80's/Alcoholcis? Who, us?" support, and you've proven yourself to be the most viable candidate. Tell your mom now, and when the time comes it won't be a big surprise. I'm sure she'll do it. Just lie to her and tell her it's Goth night.

Oh! I forgot to mention: last night, it was Rogue's friend's birthday, so he brought her on stage and had the audience sing Happy Birthday to her. But he had us sing her, "Gothic 'Happy Birthday'," because we're the, "dark scene and can't be too happy." It was awesome.

Yeah. It's one of those sayings like, "I went to a fight and a hockey game broke out," that contrast the probability that the inevitable will always happen. There's rarely a hockey game where two people in padded body armor don't exchange pointless blows. And apparently, all hockey players are alcoholics! Oh, the things I've learned at Old Navy!

Adri, you need to be around more often. So many random things happen that I wish I had someone around to exchange awkward glances and laugh hysterically with. Today we had Firefighter Kevin from the Malden Fire Department do storytime, and he was taking questions from the crowd and some sketchy guy asked him how much the hook and ladder truck weighs. And Firefighter Kevin was, like, "Um...tons?" It was pretty hilarious.

That's really beyond awkward.

My school is having a social called "DANCE UNTIL YOU DROP!" and it's a dollar per participant and 50 cents per spectator..? I vote that I pay 1.50 for you to dance and for me to spectate. So long as it's industrial music and not Jamaican elephant dances at supper time in my cafeteria again..
