I didn't win the talent show but it's ok. The kid who won played a mean snare drum. kid's got talent. Also someone told me that when they were trying to figure out who won it was between The drummer, Amar (an RA in Grayfie, my building) and Me so whatever. Even if it's not true it's ok. Okay, so let me prep in an attempt to sound smart in the midst of a premed floor that makes me feel dumb...eh-hem....
Standard deviation is the average degree of separation, or deviation, from the average value you obtained in calculations. In this case, the average grade was a 78, though that could mean anything if ten people got zeroes and that through off the high average. A standard deviation of 12 means most people ranged within about 12 points higher or lower than the average, or numerically, a 66 or 90.
