We read Water For Elephants for our bookclub, and it was awesome. Haven't read Time Traveler's Wife, though; I'll have to check that out. I started MKD, but couldn't finish it.

You can see what our bookclub has read by going here: http://community.livejournal.com/_philologia_/tag/reading+lists

That's a neat idea, doing themed food. Water for Elephants would be super fun - circus food!!! :)

I just recently finished Lan Samantha Chang's Inheritance

It's a beautiful book that spans several decades -- the bulk of it is set around the time that the Communists took over China.

Do you have that or was it a library find? If you own, would you mind if I borrowed?

Neither - I borrowed it from my cousin. So I wouldn't be comfortable loaning it out, I'm sorry. She also loaned me "Eat, Pray, Love", which I'm going to re-read before I return.

Peony in Love was very good, if not a bit strange. If you want to go with something that came out quite a while ago I highly recommend A Town Like Alice, definitely in my top 10 ever.
