I find it crazy the way people of our generation feel about love.

It seems like everyone is in love with someone they've known, oh, ten minutes, or that they've been dating point-five seconds. How can that even be possible? It takes so much to get to know a person, let alone be in love with them. People are so infatuated with each other, but that's ( Read more... )

I love how when either of us make posts like this, the other responds with something like, "Ditto!" or "I couldn't have said that better myself!" or "You rock!" or "We have the same brain!"

We do rock :)

I just added that to my "To-Read" list :)

I miss your immense knowledge and words of wisdom :) And I love you tons, of course.

(Will you still be in Tallahassee the weekend of the 23rd-25th? Because I think I'm gonna come visit and I would love to see you :)

My mommy always says the greatest thing she can teach me is to learn to be happy as an independent person.

I think people our age are obsessed with feeling things, and they forget about thinking.

You're right in some aspect. People are in love with the idea of being in love, and can sometimes push false emotions out at someone.

On the other whimsical "hopeless romantic" side of me, I do believe strong feelings can emerge early. Take Garden State, for example. Even though it is just a movie, he felt real happiness after four days.

So there's my two-cents whilst being high.

First of all, Garden State was just a movie, so although that story is possible, pretty much anything can happen in movies...

I agree with you, there are cases where people can feel love and happiness that quickly. Trust me, the hopeless romantic inside of me is desperately hoping to find that someday. I guess what I think is crazy is that it seems like so many teenagers feel ready to settle down, or even just settle, when they're still so young. I feel like young adults should experience so much more of the world before they're anywhere near ready for that...

Yeah, it's a movie, but it involves real-life situations. "Romeo and Juliet" is taught at high schools only because teens can relate to these situations.

The word "love" should be used sparingly, I think. People throw that word around too much, as with "hate". It is silly to be in a two-week relationship and be all infatuated and not really feel anything, but if a person is truly in love, then I'm not going to knock it.
