Overheard from my 9 year old. "Yaknow, I've never heard nails on a chalkboard."

Because she's never been in a classroom that has one.

Funny how certain things just have become obsolete.

I just spent last week visiting several high schools for my middle son's quest and discovered that none of them use blackboards anymore.

I'm here, Dear One. I've been running like a superspeed train doing high school open houses and parent teacher conferences. Also, my computer died a horrible death and I've had access to only extrememly limited time on the net this last week.

Also, I find it's been quite healthy to disengage from the net and write in my long-hand journal again, something I rediscovered in Paris.

Thanks for the query, though. It's good to know internet people aren't just ghosts out there. :-)
