I'm not one to usually choke up over news stories. Attribute it to selfishness, but I'm normally very withdrawn from it all. This one hits home somehow

there's a lot to choke up over. my school is doing a dollar-a-day donation for about a week. that would raise over 15000 dollars if everyone chipped in. considering the damage to New Orleans, it doesn't seem like that much, even though it is.

it's strange to see people talk about the 15-20b in economic damages caused by the shutdown of the Port of Southern Louisiana.

somehow numbers just seem less significant in the face of human tragedy.

but that doesn't stop people from using them.

it makes u wonder if in five years there will even be a New Orleans, and i mean it might not be worth the cost of money and lives to rebuild it
