I blame Dale Quin

You ever have the feeling that it's all about to topple over? I feel like Luke Skywalker in that garbage disposal: all the walls keep coming closer and closer. You can almost hear the bones begin to crunch. And there's this gross slug monster waiting at the bottom to top things off ( Read more... )

Do you ever wish that clocks would freeze and that you could have a whole day to just sit outside in the sun and think? You wouldn't have to worry about school, college deadlines, or about a million other things. I want a free thinking day. My head really needs it.

Yeah, or do you remember those old McDonald commercials when the theme was "It could happen"? There was one where the kid wanted a double who could do all the gritty work while he'd do all the fun stuff. Although, at the moment, my double would be there 24/7. Except maybe 5th period and Friday night football games.

Hey Amy. I hope you are enjoying your senior year. Don't let DQ get you down. She's tough, a bit senial, and quite awkward at times, but she really has a great heart. Trust me, any English you take in college will seem so much easier than A.P. Lit. at VHHS. I know you'll find the right college. I'll bet you're pretty exicted too. That's awesome that you liked Yale. I'm coming home this weekend. We should try and hang out. Talk to you later.

Oh, I think Ms. Quin's one of sweetest ladies I've ever met. The work load from that class is just a little overwhelming at the moment, that's all. Yeah, it'd be awesome to see you this weekend. A bunch of us are probably going to see the play at Shades Valley on Saturday if you're interested. Hope you're having an awesome time at Bama!

going to school these days is like being punched in the face... i know what you mean by the blurring and the clarity. seems like everything is strange and painfully uncertain going to school day to day, whereas i could always rely on... well, something, at oxford. talking, for instance. doesn't quite exist the same way here... as evidenced by this total incoherence

my cell phone is kind of being weird, by the way, which, if you've texted me, is why there has been no response.

Nah, I haven't texted you since Sunday. Sorry, everything's been really crazy the last week. School, as you so elegantly put "is like beng punched in the face." But I'll call you or get online or something at some point this weekend...hopefully (term paper due Tues.) Oh, I won some writing award, by the way, some random thing my English teacher entered me in last year. Thought a wordsmith like yourself might appreciate that:) Maybe I'll send what I submitted to you sometime. It's very Southern:)
