Drama King made two calls to the breeder, regarding our break-up. He left messages, but thus far they have not called us back. At this point, we've pretty much accepted that we won't be getting our dog from them. It would be nice if did get back to us, if only out of common courtesy, but I see no need to beat a dead horse ( Read more... )

A few other friends have suggested we contact the BBB. I'd like to make one more attempt at contact, so I feel like we've really tried. If we still don't get a response, I will file a complaint.

In the meantime, I'm anxiously awaiting Awesome Dog!

That sounds like it would be even more ideal. I'm sorry you didn't get the dog you loved, but I hope things work out for you very soon. Whatever dog ends up with your family will be a very lucky pup.

Sometimes things work out as they're meant to. The next step is an interview with a rescue volunteer. It may take a couple of weeks before someone is able to get back to us. I'm trying to be patient...but it's hard. :)

8 month old Emma seems sweet(but adopted)...or 3 yr old Molly(dorothea?).

The saying about doors and windows is totally applicable here.

I can't believe that those breeders acted the way they did, but maybe just maybe this is meant to be.

It feels like a meant to be. As our vet said, rescuing an adolescent or younger adult lab, could be ideal for us. Lots of energy and opportunities for training, without the challenges of housebreaking.

My heart still aches a little knowing we won't be getting one of the puppies I fell in love with, but that will fade in time.

I am excited for you and for the potential adoption of a rescue doggie. It sounds like it could work out well for all concerned. (And I love the names Dash and Freya - awesome).

I realize you are dancing around it intentionally, but I would like to (publicly) know the name of the breeder who treated you this way.

I think such knowledge should be spread, far and wide.
