Sometimes, she sits in the Hogwarts library staring into space, thinking of how he used to push her stack of books over, his mouth a sneering, mocking curve.
Sometimes, she scolds a Slytherin youngster for the misdemeanours he was once responsible for, and blushes with the memory of him taking the rap for her when she spilt Snape’s potion by accident in eighth year.
Sometimes, she watches Ginny at a Harpies match, swerving and diving, and daydreams of being on his broom, holding onto him for dear life, yet knowing all the time he would never let her fall.
Sometimes, she sees a flash of platinum blond in the crowd, and she remembers how that colour fills her vision as he nuzzles against her, his lips slick and cool against her neck.
Sometimes, she cries silent tears while holding a sleeping Rose in bed, wishing she can forget him.
But she knows she never will.
