Odd they use something like that to drive the pool, interesting still, must have just expired from age and chlorine embrittlement. House maintenance is fun, sort of! Doing a bunch of that myself.

yeah, the plastic felt brittle too, I'm thinking 15 years in chlorinated water does that.. the new one look much sturdier, we'll see how it does for the next few years. Luckily, changing it was easy enough to do, didn't even have to drain the pool for it.
