This made me realize... what led to her departure? Is she moving? Just wanting to do something else?

I really can't speak for Laurie, but my understanding is that multiple things most likely led up to this. One, it's been 13 years, and it may just be time to move on. Two, she has been putting a great deal of time and energy into another project, namely the non-profit organization Houston Arts and Media. Three, Laurie hates our troops.

It was our pleasure! You were all quite good this time, and I admit to having some trepidation, as I had not appreciated the venue last time. This time, you all had your mojo, and the drinks were pretty swell too.

Let me just put in my request for more weekend gigs. Although, for a limited time only, I may be able to attend weekday evening gigs, as well.

Given that we now must replace an Alto, it may be quite some time before we gig again regardless. Of course, only those on our super secret mailing list will know for sure...

Two songs in a row, no less. I was truly flustered.

How about a My Little Pony instead?

MLP is soooo twenty years ago. You know any Dora the Explorer? Emma is a big fan and would fly down for all of your shows then.

Besides, I don't think Big Boy served pony.
