Oh. My. God.

First, I hate the whole concept of state pledges to begin with. I have no allegiance to the frakkin state I live in, dang it. It's this country that matters.

Second, I always kinda respected the Texas pledge. "Honor the Texas flag. Texas one and indivisible." Easy. Accurate. I ignored it, but still, it was inoffensive and uncomplicated.

Third, talk about a run on sentence now.

Man, this sucks. If I lived in Texas, I would so be writing my legislators and getting pissed off.

And my decision to send the Boy to a secular private school next year already pays dividends.

For years, I wondered how the Houston Chronicle could get any worse. Then they started letting any hateful idiot with an internet connection add comments to their news pieces.

I have never thought of you as hateful, nor an idiot. So don't make me start now. ;{)}

Honestly, my issue is with public schools, not private schools. Government institutions, IMHO, just should not be in the business of promoting religion of any kind.

I get that, and that respect is something that has always existed throughout the years. I'm not growing grouchy, I promise.
