One of the downsides of driving a car until it dies is that to keep it running, you have to feed it regularly on a diet of plastic, mostly in the form of my credit card ( Read more... )

I've been in a similar place with my 10-year-old Jeep. Things wear out, but I keep telling myself that repairs are cheaper than a new(ish) car. They do add up, though.

We are having the same sort of concerns with the 13-year-old Saturn. Hard to calculate the various hidden costs - like loss of use while its in the shop - to determine what's the right time to get a new or "new" car.

Yeah, the Infiniti is now 11 years old, but so far, it's still kinda chugging along. I feel like the interior will go before the engine, though.

Nah - I'm still stuck here, most likely until at least 3:30, as they often take longer than expected to finish. I may hit the vending mahines if I get too sick.

Sweet! My service guy just came by and said he was heading out to lunch, and asked me if I wanted him to bring me back something. Now *that's* good customer service.
