It's beginning to look a lot like... wait, what?

On the way home tonight I saw that one of the houses in our neighborhood *already* has a full set of Christmas lights up, including on the trees and front walk. Is it me, or is this just too early? I mean, I guess I can see stores wanting to get a jump on early sales promotions, but lights up already? Really?

It's not you. Christmas decorations shouldn't come out until after Thanksgiving. One holiday at a time, people.

Preach it, brother!

I actually HEARD someone say, "No Christmas decorations until after Halloween." I wanted to beat them about the head with a large, plastic candy cane. But I didn't HAVE a large, plastic candy cane, because my Christmas stuff stays in boxes until AFTER THANKSGIVING.

Too damned early. Especially with the rather balmy and uncooperative weather we're having.

Funny article in Tulsa World today about this subject... that last week the big "news" was our first freeze. Uh, guys... it's November. Isn't a freeze expected?

We were at 80 yesterday. The cold front that passed over it taking things into the 70s. This doesn't help.

Last year, we had snow the first week of December. *sigh*

I thought this phenom was just up here in Christian land. In Hobby Lobby last week, everyone in line in front of us was buying a Christmas tree. Geez, people... it's just a couple days after Hallowfrakkinween. Our Halloween stuff was still UP, I believe.

It is WAAAAY too early.
