Religulous vs. Expelled

I just finished a back to back viewing of Ben Stein’s “Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed” and Bill Maher’s Religulous. Seeing them both juxtaposed so closely to one another was very interesting. I agree with your assessment of the movie. I haven't seen Religulous but it doesn't surprise me at all that it has the same tone. What a stupid and gullible society we've become if that's how movie makers try to communicate with us.

Yeah, turns out he's a total whack job. Young earth creationism and everything. Here's a quote that he dropped on a radio show a couple years ago:

"…Love of God and compassion and empathy leads you to a very glorious place, and science leads you to killing people."

I saw Religulous, and I enjoyed it.

I do think you give too much credit to the mass populace that is going to see this movie.

People with strong religious beliefs aren't going to be swayed even if he presented a better argument. So really that's not worth debating except to say that perhaps given the opportunity to do so personally you may win.

While I understand your point, I don't necessarily think you fit into the film's target audience. ;)
