His Name
The Icelandic name Sindri [I think it's pronounced "SIN-dree" (sin as is the deadly seven sins)] means "small, trivial" in Icelandic or the alternate meaning in Old Norse, "sparkling".
One, I just thought it fit him. I love the sound of this name. Two, Iceland is an odd fellow. He often looks like he's thinking, perplexed, or just constipated. And he's not the most recognized nation out there, ya know? I figure the "small" comes from how tiny he is compared to his other Nordic nations, and the "trivial" comes from how little he actual does in the manga. XD I'm not saying he's worthless! "Trivial" means "of little worth"! See! He has worth!! I derive "sparkling" from both the icy parts of his country he's known for and the fact that his hair is simply gorgeous. Oh yeah, he's a vampire too. NOM. He sparkles in the sunlight like ICE.
Olvirsson is an Icelandic surname meaning "son of Óleifr", Óleifr being the ancient form of Olaf. Olaf is from the Old Norse name Áleifr, meaning "ancestor's descendent". So yeah, he's a country. He's old. And that's the only good surname I could find, or rather, the only one I liked on him. ._.;; Olaf is Norwegian, Danish, German, Dutch, and Polish, btw. Fun facts, fun facts. <3
AND THANKS TO YOU PEOPLE (you know who you are!!) I've decided that along with his typical traits I'm making him quite interested in mens fashion. FFFFTTT!!! XD
