What I would suggest is grabbing some paint chips from a hardware store, bringing them home, and holding them up to decide the best color. It's easier to see how the color will work once you have the chip in the room, to see better how lighting/brick/et cetera will work. I'll happily help you paint, I get a weird kick out of painting walls. Weird, I know.
