Breakdown

Right, I have to be at work at 10:30am today, so, this is the first of the would be 4am postings In the middle of putting away shoes, this woman comes up to me, seemingly very well aware of herself and what she is doing. After a moment she asks if she can use the phone, which we don't allow, but I point out there are pay phones near the front. Turns out she is out of cash...I ponder for a moment, and think to myself "What the hell?"

Giving her 50 cents from my own register, she goes on her way. A few minutes later, my coworker gives me back the 50 cents....apparently she came and gave it back. Terrific, I think, she managed to fix it without using my money. Roughly 10 minutes later our Sales Director allows her in the back, she's crying like someone much younger than herself, and why? Because I wouldn't let her use the phone . *sigh*

For a moment I thought very little of this woman, to crack over something so minute and easily fixable. Then I gave it a second and realized, you know, she probably had a lot of other things suffocating her at the moment, and this was just the last straw that caused a breakdown.

I followed up by stealing candy from little children of course.
