LOL okay i'm not the most environmentally-conscious person at all.  in my eyes, the earth can take care of itself, and can ~create~ defence mechanisms to off us if we're harming it oh-so-much.

but let me answer the question XD i don't litter...?  i freak out when other people litter because i think it's gross anyway.  i'll throw food on the ( Read more... )

Ack! The planet could take care of itself if we weren't inhabiting it, that's for damn sure! We're USING it, it isn't ours. The defense mechanisms it has go crazy when humans come in and manipulate the resources... that's pretty simple to see. The defense mechanisms the Earth is showing is bigger storms, melting glaciers, flooding cities... that's a pretty clear sign, isn't it?

aah yeah i totally see it (: it's just, idk, i'm weird about all of this. if we all weren't so wasteful and learnt how to properly use resources, things would probably be better.

but just wondering since i don't get this part, how did we contribute to the glaciers' melting? is it because of the C02 emissions and the ozone layer, or what? or do you know XD

Essentially the world is a big greenhouse (hence the term greenhouse gasses). The Sun's rays are supposed to bounce off the Earth and instead they're getting trapped in the atmosphere and melting the glaciers. In a nutshell. So yes, the CO2, methane, CFCs and other emissions are making it hard for the rays to bounce OUT, and screwing up our climate.
"we all" includes yourself don't you think? the only person you can control is yourself.
