I was going to give you a call tonight, actually, but work was so freaking surreal today that all I want to do at the moment is curl up and cry for half an hour and then go to sleep. So instead we're going to Bethlehem. I mean, the town. The town proper, as opposed to the sort of outskirt-y bit that we live in.
What I was going to call you about is the last day of Musikfest is Sunday. I didn't recognise any of the names on the schedule for Sunday (though that means very little, really), so if you're up for it, we could hang out at MF for the afternoon/evening. There's going to be fireworks, I hear tell. Or we could do something else. As I said, I recognised no names on the schedule so I won't cry if I miss it.
I'm not sure that the first part of your response made sense, but it could be the cold talking. :)
Sunday I'm heading to Mom & Dad's at some point to spend the night, since I have to be at the hospital early the next morning. I also know nothing about Musikfest, but I'll try to look it up tomorrow when I'm not actively falling asleep.
Yeah, it didn't totally make sense to me as I was writing it, but I kind of didn't care. ;) It was more important to at least try to explain why I said we were going to Bethlehem when, um, we're technically already there.
Musikfest is pretty cool. There's lots of bands playing pretty much all the time and way too many people come to Bethlehem and it's impossible to find parking. But the bands are usually pretty good. musikfest.org is the site, it's a bitch to navigate this year - once you're at the event schedule, I recommend checking the print view. You have to scroll all the way to the bottom, yes, but at least you don't have to use their damn coded schedule that only shows you two hour blocks at a time. The plus side of that schedule is some of the bands have sample songs that you can listen to by clicking their names.
Wish I was around, or able to show up. I was planning on calling you Saturday or Sunday to leave you a little message, all "good luck with the procedure" & all. Since you've been closed-lipped about it, i tend to worry slightly.
I'm closed-lipped because I actively do not want to do this, but I feel like I'm being forced to do it. Not by any one, but by my back, by my general physical condition. I gotta do it, and I hope I'll come out of it happy with the decision and feeling better about myself. But I still do not want to do it and I'm upset with myself for having to make this decision in the first place.
At this point, though, I'm really praying that nothing goes wrong enough that I'd have to go back for more surgery. :/
Thanks, and don't worry, I will. Kinda wish I'd gotten some before-and-after photos, but I'm still not a fan of any sort of photography, especially if it centers on one part of me. There'll be some post at some point saying "I lived," though I won't have much computer access for a while (being whisked off to the mountains by the parental units for recuperation).
I'm in DC visiting my dad until sometime on Sunday :( do you know when you're whisking off to your parents? (i wish i was home, i'd LOVE to do a karaoke night with you...)
I'll call once i'm homa and see what you're up to :)
And then call me - I may head over to the 'Fest today, since there's a cd I wanted to pick up and I found out the group is actually playing every day for the whole festival. If we wanted to go Sunday that would be cool, but if not I'll try to pick up my cd today and then I can do something else on Sunday too. Or I could walk over to the place after church on Sunday and get it before coming down. :)
I'll be honest - I really, seriously doubt I'm going to want to be at any sort of large crowd type thing tomorrow. Or today. I'm still recovering from the gaming 'Con, but at least that was organized noise, etc. :P
Yeah - I'm heading over for dinner tomorrow night and staying. I can't eat anything after midnight, and we won't know when the surgery actually is "unless you call b/w 10-3 on Sunday," so they're gonna feed me up right, and I'm going to stay put. So, probably too early for us to do anything. I expect to spend the evening watching some movie or another w/... anyone in my family, I dunno.
