More minecraft updates! Actual life updates will come later today.
This is the massive cave structure I was talking about, or at least the entrance. For a while, this was my base - inside was a workbench, furnace, and large chest. I added the glass so I could see when it was safe to come out and chop down trees, since I used to get ambushed frequently.
...I don't think I'm going to cut this one down.
More angles of the treehouse! I figure if I get more massive trees to grow around it, I'll expand the house.
Not too clear since it's dark, but every self-respecting treehouse needs a ladder entrance.
The view from the top of the staircase! There's a small space behind my workbench and chest, followed by the window to the sunset.
Same view, just from the opposite wall. The staircase are stone because I don't think you can even make wooden staircases.
Same long view idea, just looking the other way. That chest there is empty for now.
The sideroom! More on this later.
This is the view out from the sideroom. I already had a plan for this, as these were all taken yesterday. So what have I done in the meantime?
The Cave and The Treehouse are officially connected by minetracks. Also, as this is the best picture to see it, yes, that is a brick chimney. Yes, it has a fire. There's a little glitch that if you take something flammable (in this case, wood) and surround it on all eight sides by something non-flammable (stone) and then light the top on fire and wait about ten seconds, you can remove the stone and it'll never burn out. The idea with the rail system, however, is to connect that line to another planned line to my spawn point and turn my spawn into a major rail station. In a manner similar to Eric's glass lighthouse, my idea is to make a bunch of lines that go out from the ground floor, and as I have to start getting further away, I build another floor and have further points serviceable by second, third, fourth floor.
