I totally agree with you on Buffy and Spike! (And Buffy with Angel; it was not a mature relationship and say what you will about "how much she loved him", at the end of the day, he preferred her to be young and uncertain, because that meant he could be the "big hero" - Spike was more than happy with her being mature and grown up, and I think actually preferred it that way, and wanted her to become even more independent - so long as she didn't kick him to the curb, but then if she had been less focused on what her friends thought (wrongly and with complete bias!) then she wouldn't have been hiding that they were together

They were my first ship and will always have a special place in my heart. It was how I discovered fanfiction and through that I also analysed their relationship, and Buffy's relationship with Angel, so I guess I can't take all the credit (although they are my own thoughts, as I don't exactly remember details of other people's thoughts, it was so long ago!).
I didn't watch Angel regularly, but I have seen not quite half of the series (mainly I watched episodes where people from Buffy visited, but from all that I do know of it, he was much more grown-up on Angel). That said, don't watch it if you like the Spike that he became on Buffy, because the Spike of S5 of Angel is a poorly drawn caricature of the Spike the writers imagine he must've turned into based on S2 of Buffy (if even that). They completely wrecked him and his growth and all for a few cheap laughs that no one who loved Spike thought was funny.
At the risk of sounding like a total creeper, I very much ship Spencer/Sam from iCarly, in about five years when she's taking a break for a semester because she doesn't know what she wants to do with her life amd Spencer's still this goofy man-child who's been at kind of a loss for a couple of years while Carly's been away at college. And maybe Spencer sees Sam tap dancing on the streets in the tourist section of Seattle to make a little money to live off of since her mother's kicked her out for not bothering with school anymore, but she's not really making any money because she's just so damn abrasive, and maybe Spencer's like, 'hey, no, you're family, come home' and so Sam does and then never really leaves.
And I've obviously thought way too much about this. I've liked the idea for a long time, but most of the above came to me as I was writing this comment, I swear.
Okay... that does sound creepy, but I could see it. I thought that tv movie they did together was great - there is some chemistry there (of course she has to grow up first), but still not totally out of line.
I just always thought they understood each other's crazy really well. Carly would freak out about it and Freddie would disapprove, and oh my goodness now I want to write this story even though what WHAT I am not even in that fandom, but damn, I do love a good age difference fic as long as there's consent. I see lots of UST.
Though my sister is telling me that Sam came to live with Carly and Soencer for am episode it two and she drove them crazy, so who knows.
