I'm in Boston this week doing research at the women's history archives at Harvard. So I decided to make my next group of 10 quotes from early feminists. I'm going to start with one of my favorite women Elizabeth Cady Stanton. She hit the nail on the head when she wrote:

Women in history have been amazing. It's a shame that we still today, with all the advances and available resources, still struggle with this - as a world (and by that I mean mostly men wanting to feel and "be" superior). The women of history who stood up for their rights and the rights of other women were true heroes. And we have them still today, although it makes me sad and outraged that it's necessary at all!

That's a great quote from ECS. And it's still true!

I'm absurdly glad that women's like Stanton took it upon themselves to demand better and fairer treatment for women.

Learning about women like Stanton in my into women's studies courses was so awesome. I can remember being like 18 and going, "how come I never learned about that in 12 years of history!?"
