so, right now i have the opportunity to change my MOS (military occupational specialty), but instead of doing more paper work i have a chance to fill an open slot. which means, as a set back (depending on your view) will be i have to leave in September instead of October. and for such an "aid" to the recruiters, (by filling a messed up spot) they

That sounds like an amazing opportunity, and if you get a guarenteed job, that would make it so much more awesome. I will miss you no matter when you leave, but I support you 100%, even though that was real lame and you are going to make fun of me for it later!
