The lady from collections actually called me back. I made my case to her but she is being a stickler. So I have to send a letter requesting reinstatement and go through some review procedure. Then if I get accepted I can resubmit my claims because it will be retroactive to December 1st with no break in coverage thank god. But now I have to miss ( Read more... )

Sounds like more of the outwardly angry and less of the self-loathing is called for here. Misplacing bills is easy to do even when you're not in the middle of moving. Insurance providers are just out to screw you.

insurance companies are BASTARDS. you must complain and complain some more until you get your way. it took me three months of badgering to get mine to reimburse me for a doctor's visit, and the only reason i couldn't have it covered straight away is that the stupid company didn't send me my policy cards! it took me two phone calls, where they supposedly "issued duplicate sets" through the mail to actually receive the damned things. they finally caved to my persistant nagging, so i'd advise you to do the same: be a badger! be a pain in the ass! it's really your only chance at being treated with any amount of fairness by an insurance company.
