The Sand Architects

We are sand architects.
We sculpt far-fetched ideas
and we're artists
for a day.
We will stretch ourselves today
and tomorrow
all our efforts will
wash away.
We are the kings of this beach
and our empire
reaches that net
over there-
past the sea-glass fortress
and the pebble mound.
Now the tide comes in
but we don't care.
Honestly.

I was beginning to wonder where you'd got to - judging from the beach theme, were you on vacation (or do you Brits call it holiday, I can't remember)?

Indeed, I was in Wales on a distant peninsula [though it was probably closer to you people]. I went to the seaside every day at least once, and I am afraid to say I made the best sandcastles on the beach. I really did make a glass fortress and a pebble mound. I'm glad you liked it.
