Sighing, she checked some of her later appointments (clinic, board meeting, another meeting with the budget committee and rounds), releasing that the mid part of her day wasn’t really the

Edgeworth hesitated a moment before the door. It was, not surprisingly, glass (the hospital's interior designers were apparently obsessed with the stuff) rendering him mostly visible to the woman inside and making his pause rather pointless. He knew his visit would be unexpected, though, so the pause persisted another half a minute until he knocked on the door with a few sharp raps.

Cuddy froze, hearing the rapping on the glass. She hoped that it wasn’t a patron, a benefactor, or someone just trying to cut into her lunch time. Her head snapped up for a moment she looked slightly irate, then she realized who it was. Smiling spreading to her face like she was a child in store for a treat, she pushed out her chair and went to the door to greet Edgeworth.

“Edgeworth! This is a surprise, come on in.” Her arms were spread between the doorway and the frame, but moved them aside to let him in. She popped her head out to tell her secretary, “I’ll be going to lunch now.”

Though Edgeworth's arrival had in the past inspired a wide range of reactions from people, a large and exceedingly eager smile was generally not one of them. He blinked at Cuddy and slowly moved into the office as she cleared the way. "I apologize for the lack of notice. I found myself with some extra time free for lunch."

Cuddy motioned for him to have a seat on the couches she had in her office.

"It's an unexpected surprise, that is for sure. You do have some timing, I was just finishing off here, and then going to go for lunch."
