it mostly reminded me of a short story that i read in 6th grade. a man bought an antique desk from the civil war era and he could communicate with a woman from that time by placing the letter in the desk. though in the story, they never met. LOVE TRANSCENDS TIME, ALEX!

also kinda sounds like that movie frequency with denis quaid and the guy who played jesus in passion of the christ. in this movie the son could talk to the dad 30 years ago or something through an old transistor radio sitting on some old desk.
