A friend of mine on Facebook recently posted about the ever elusive state of being happy. He felt like happiness was within his grasp, but other people were preventing him from getting there

I'm glad you posted indicating the source of your happiness-in-yourself thing on fb. A cluster of very-other fb friends are carping at each other and using this issue to do so, and with your post I wondered whether some external event was driving it. But it would seem like (probably) true coincidence.

True coincidence. The FB friend who inspired that post is a work friend of mine. Unfortunately, chasing rainbows is a highly common human condition.
