Sideways was definitely not Oscar worthy, but I still thought it was an enjoyable film. Of course, I was desperately homesick at the time and when I saw it I kept poking Danielle and saying "Look! Look! Isn't California pretty!?" Danielle: "It's brown..." Mar: "I know!!!"

Giamatti was definitely better in American Splendor though.

You really really really need to see Withnail & I. I think you'd love it a lot.

Have you seen Payne's earlier work like "Election" and "Citizen Ruth"? Sharper stuff, IMO.
