Is it OK for my portfolio to have a lot of me in it? Haha. I've been doing my own hair since 1995, and I've been doing makeup for all my own photoshoots and Halloween costumes. I have others that aren't just me, but the majority of them are at the moment. I'm including mostly just ones of different hairstyles I've done, and then the gore fx makeup since I'm good at it.

that's totally fine. I don't know that you actually need a portfolio for school anyway.

I figure it can't hurt, both schools have an application/interview process, so if I show up with a book already that can't hurt. (and I can use it at my booth too) :)
