Beautiful. I usually have a really hard time reading stories that are detail heavy, but the details you have included in this, from the color of the sky to the quality of the dirt, just fascinate me. The sense of place that you take the time to establish makes this story seem so immediate and real, and very, very beautiful. And of course, I love the background details you've given your characters, which are always slightly unexpected, but nonetheless fit. Frank the musician and map man may be the love of my life. Second to you, of course.
