Going through customs was an adventure, by which I mean hell on wheels. It's probably a good thing I sent that sword I bought on ebay last year ahead of me by mail. The flight itself was uneventful. I amused myself by watching the clouds and reading ( Read more... )

Elaborate plots? I hear you there. You're keeping a sword here too? We ought to talk.

Hi. I take it you are another student at Eupheme? Nice to meet you. I'm Rob. Now, are there seriously elaborate plots going on? I was kidding when I said that, but if there were, that would be so awesome! And you have a sword with you at school as well? Is that normal. I mean, I was planning on hiding the sword in the back of my closet like I do at home, because I assumed the school would have the same feelings about armed teenagers as my parents. But, if not, this boarding school idea is looking to be a great one.

There weren't nearly as many people with swords back home in Scotland. Is this normal in the States? I don't mean to sound rude or anything, I'm just curious.

Swords! It helps when they aren't real. And it helps when the Egyptian part of one's family has little influence on one's appearance. But I was worried, bringing my fencing swords with me. Anyway, I am very new, too. They call me Alex.

My sword is real. It isn't the sharpest sword ever, after all, I got it on ebay. As for fencing, because of my poor health, I haven't been able to do much in the way of organized athletics. I'd love to start learning to fence, though. That would be spectacular. Eupheme seems like the sort of place to have a fencing team we could join.
