1. Sardines 2. Because languages are like potato chips. You can't just stop at one. I loved learning them, and each one lead to such rich cultures, and the cultures lead back to the languages and it just interweaves into the rich tapestry in life. And because I love that you can stop wars with the right word, and shape reality. 3. Because we just decided that you should be a George Samuel. I'm not sure we had more thought to it than that. 4. I started when I was nineteen, and did it all through college, so I'd have money to send back to mom and then because mom died, and I needed the money. 5. I'm afraid just a simple peach daquiri. I've got a sweet tooth.
I didn't put a 'no Winona Kirk' line in, so it's only fair to ask you questions.
1. What is your favorite color? 2. Where is your favorite place to go on vacation to? 3. What is your favorite food? 4. What is your favorite animal? 5. What the fuck were you thinking turning down Pike and George?
Didn't think you would though. You understand my reasoning there.
1. Blue. 2. Tropical places, I also used to like the Mojave. 3. Spaghetti. 4. Wolf, they run in packs, but if need be, run alone. 5. ...Sam. I didn't-I turned them down because of you and your brother. Why should I force you to have to deal with the fact that I am your mother by marrying them. It wasn't easy to say no.
1. What's your favorite color? 2. What's your favorite memory of summer? 3. Why didn't you admit that you're a McCoy? 4. Do you have a secret talent? What is it? 5. Want to go to the gym some time?
1. Yellow 2. Mmmmmmmm. Earth summer or random planet summer? Earth summer would be Daddy's day off and he'd sweep me up onto his shoulders, and we'd go down into town for ice cream and sometimes to the library for story time, and I'd sit on his lap, and listen to the story and he'd hold me. Daddy always made me feel safe.
Random planet would have been my first planet fall. We were on a planet that wouldn't negotiate unless there was a child present...something about children seeing what adults can't or the innocence of youth or something. Only...humans interacted with the drinks somehow and the crew kind of all regressed to acting like children.
3. Habit, I guess. I'm used to ships where anyone new was usually coming of a ship where it wasn't what you know, it was who, and currying favor with the upper officers was a fast track to promotion. I was a bit well connected and used far too often before I learned to only trust who I already knew.
1. What if your favorite place to vacation? 2. What is your favorite drink? 3. Why did you become a doctor? 4. What is with Joanna? 5. What are your intentions towards my brother?
1. Right now? Pretty damned fond of Risa. 2. Jim Beam black label 3. McCoys are doctors. 4. I assume you mean the adult version? I don't know, maybe hearing her family killed as she sped away in an escape pod and landing in an alternative universe is emotionally crippling? Just a guess... 5.
Nice to meet you, Leonard. I'm Sam Kirk, the captain's brother. Whatever that long word was, it sounds painful.
1. Where are you actually from? 2. What do you think about here? 3. What's your favorite hobby? 4. What's your favorite place that you've ever been? 5. What're you doing to keep yourself entertained?
1. I was born and raised in Boston, although I spent most of my adult life in California, mainly L.A. Uh, late 20th/early 21st century. 2. Well, for one I thought it was fictional, so the fact that it all exists is still a bit of a marvel. Very intriguing on many levels, although I'm unsure I'll ever quite get used to replicators. 3. Photography. 4. The Great Wall of China was pretty impressive, as were the pyramids. But I think I'd have to go with north of the arctic circle - such harsh, sparse beauty; it's amazing that anything survives up there. 5. Not a whole lot, as it stands. Sex. Read, mostly, comfort DeForest, play around on this network. Although two high points as of late have been making contact with newly sentient life.
2. Infinite universes, infinite possibilities. We had to exist out her somewhere. To be honest, I'm still a little unnerved the replicators. I guess it's just cause I haven't been around them. 3. Oh? 5. Who's DeForest? What newly sentient life is that?

5. We're never going to be a family unit. That doesn't mean that you have to punish Pike and George.
