Minister of Interior Mr. Eli Yishai refused to accept fire truck donations from Christian charity group. On a religious basis. That's just barely a day after he officially claimed he was the only one not responsible for the firefighting catastrophe, a saint among sinners. That's really what the man'd said.

In my humble opinion, Mr. Yishai is not an evil man. Certainly he is not a scapegoat (although better him than others, all things considered). Mr. Yishai is a typical child of the system that produced him, and ("just") hundreds of thousands of others precisely like him - a product of religious involvement in state affairs. Involvement on a very high levels. Eli Yishai is not an enemy of the state, neither is the system that gave him birth - because a state that allows for such interventionism is clearly flawed and not worth defending - changing, yes, but not defending; he is an enemy of social liberalism, progress and personal freedoms. He is the embodiment of everything a common man hates (and rightfully so) about the word "Jew". He and his system are one of the main reasons this nation is still referred to as the "nation of jews". God, that sounds *awful*.
I wonder what would happen if, say, US Minister of Interior, whoever that is, would decline israeli help in California wildfires on religious basis. Shitstorm? Resignation? World-wide flame wars?.. Worst nightmare came true for a western country. But in Israel this just slides.

Tl;DR - This is ridiculous. I refuse to be governed by a bunch of racist mammoths.

UPD: Not that I can do much about it.
