The stubborn, ignorant conservatism of my fellow israelis still manages to impress me, from time to time. They rush to talkback at a news website about how Turkey is bad and will never send any help to Israel and how the turks are nothing but jew-hating slime - to an article headed "Turkey, Greece, Cyprus send aid". -

Ever since I bought the bike, I think it's been about 3 months now, I've been parking it in the "hood", on a sidewalk by a tree (the one that got almost cut down, remember?). It's done. I took my little queen to the beauty doctor and got her back a couple of days ago. The job is perfect, flawless. The shop is every bit as good as they are known to be, and the work's worth every dime I rolled down their way.
And plenty the dime were, ooooh so plenty. Let's just say it cost more than five hundred bucks. Alot more. Heaven ( Read more... ) -

I've been to a paintshop today. The paintshop, a small shack hidden deep inside the dirty, noisy mess of alleys and one-way streets in south Tel Aviv. It is the best there is, or so I was told. Another dream
I was in the office. The layout was just about perfectly right, only that... the entire place was in a swamp. Not only that, the office was the swamp itself - the walls, chairs and desks were all twigs and leaves and branches. My desk was a large hollow trunk. Sometimes I can't believe how ignorant and mean most people act for no reason at all during every day interactions. Sometimes I can, but most times I don't. I really don't.
