More of the Same and More for the Change. Authority vs. Leadership, McCain vs. Obama.

DiaryI can't tell you how angry I was, watching the RNC and seeing everyone sneer at Community Organizing. I'm a social worker, so as Jon Stewart said, I saw this as a "fuck you, you dumb motherfuckers for thinking you could make a difference in your community." Community Organizing requires leadership, much like executive leadership, but it ( Read more... )

Thank you for explaining to me (at least partially) why so many people are supporting McCain/Palin. Comfort can go a long way, I suppose.

This is a perfect treatise on the differences in tickets, and I have linked to it from my journal. I hope you don't mind.

Not at all! I wish I hadn't written it so early in the morning (yup, 10 am is early when you work late hours at my job) since it was full of typos and bad grammar. But it is fixed now!

Not at all! I think you're right. I need to mosey on over to that community and post it. As well as recruit for my agency. We're down workers.

This election is bringing out the stupid. I've seen women trying to tell themselves that Sarah Palin is a feminist, that "Feminists for Life" is feminist, and all kinds of incredible shit. Just unbefucklivable. Feminists for life? Really?

I'm totally okay with defending Palin against sexist attacks, but her RNC speech was nothing but sheer bullshit, and hers and McCain's campaign commercials are just amazing lies. I mean, blatant, in-your-face, scarily dishonest. What will they do in the White House? No honor, no honesty, and worse than Bush.
