Nice to see that you've recognized and accepted such an important, deep self-revelation. I'm impressed, but not surprised, that you have also realized and committed to the need to be forthright and honest about this, with yourself and potential romantic partners. I hope you manage to find plenty of acceptance and happiness moving forward.

It is difficult to be open with others and even yourself in controversial things that ultimately define who you are and will bring you happiness. I have thought a lot about this topic as it is a "thing" of mine right now to read up on polygamy ... but it got me thinking about polygamy outside of the religious nutjobs and I can't help but think .. why not? It seems like a good situation for all involved. I am sure compromise is needed but I can think of a lot of pros as well. Good luck defining and finding acceptance and if you need me I'm here to listen!

The primary difficulties lie in finding people that are able to look past the social mores, and find acceptance in a relationship like this one. Some people can't understand that there isn't just 1 true love out there for them.
