Short fics for 30_kisses

Aug 21, 2005 21:01

These fics are all set in the world of the tenipuri_xp RP. The first three are slightly ahead of the current timeline, the last is 10 years in the future. FOr those of you who don't want to read the RP all you need to know is that the characters are mutants. An's power is weather control and Sakuno's is invisibility.

Theme: 12 - in a good mood

An was almost always in a good mood, it was simply a facet of her personality, and, directly linked to that, the sun was almost always shining. There were days when the weather was less fair, of course, no one can be happy all the time, and there were days when the brightness was almost blinding. The day she first kissed Sakuno for one, the day the shy girl confessed her feelings were mutual.

Those were the days she was glad her powers were emotionally triggered. Being able to share her joy with the people around her was almost as wonderful a feeling as knowing that the person she was in love with loved her back.

Sakuno was doing her homework, at least An assumed she was doing homework, the way she was diligently reading and taking notes. In theory An was doing the same, but she'd taken one look at the subject matter - something science-y to do with sound waves and such - and started doodling in her notebook.

Halfway through a very rough sketch of her girlfriend An glanced up to find a very small frown line marring the younger girl's forehead. Pushing herself up from the comfortable sprawl she'd been in for the past few hours she tugged on the book, closing it and glancing at the title. 'Mutants: Powers and variations'. Well that wouldn't do, homework making the girl frown was one thing, but personal research?

"Is this," holding the book up to make it obvious what she was referring to, "really that interesting?" The question was bland, almost bored, as she returned to her doodle.

She was only half-listening to the other girl gushing about just how interesting the subject matter was, just what she'd found out about different powers, concentrating more on the animated expression and shining eyes. Sakuno really was adorable when she was talking about things that interested her, even if such things did involve studying.

Even so, An didn't have infinite patience, and she could only listen to the babbling for so long. Leaning forward she caught the other girl's chin gently, flashed her a slightly wicked grin and silenced her with a press of lips. It was time for Sakuno to learn there were more interesting things in life than studying.

Title: Blush
Author/Artist: dream_in_words/lonelymaiden
Pairing: An/Sakuno
Fandom: Prince of Tennis
Theme: 19 - red.

It was a pity, An sometimes felt, that no one else go to see Sakuno blush. It was also odd that the younger girl's invisibility didn't seem to kick in when it was just the two of them. Not that she was complaining, she liked being able to see her girlfriend, it made kissing her less hit and miss. But... did that mean Sakuno had wanted An to see her, even back when they first met, before they really knew each other, let alone felt anything more?

Shrugging off the thoughts - what did they matter anyway? - she pressed a kiss against a sleep flushed cheek, leaving a gift and short note by her bedside. She'd come back later, when the other girl was awake.

Title: White Picket Fence
Author/Artist: dream_in_words/lonelymaiden
Pairing: An/Sakuno
Fandom: Prince of Tennis
Theme: 25 - fence

10 years ago they had naively thought the world would become a better place, that once they had control of their powers they could live in ordinary society again. It hadn't taken much for An to lose those childish notions, but Sakuno clung to them still.

It was understandable though, An's powers being so much more dangerous than Sakuno's that they should have differing views on the matter, Sakuno still believed in the white picket fence ideal after all. Not that An begrudged her lover these dreams in the slightest, even if she couldn't quite believe them herself. They were part of what made Sakuno Sakuno, and An wouldn't change her for the world.

It was late when they got home, Tezuka had insisted on extra training, and all Sakuno wanted to do was collapse into bed and sleep for a week, but An had other ideas. Tugging on her lover's hand the young weather manipulator led the way to their well-kept garden, creating a small rainstorm to make up for the recent drought,

"I know it's not what you imagined," she whispered, pressing a soft kiss to a fair shoulder as she held the younger woman before her, allowing her to see the low white fence surrounding their flowers, "but it's the best I can give you right now.

Eyes shining with love and gratitued Sakuno turned in An's embrace, kissing her deeply even as she laughed. "It's perfect."
