OK I give up and officially beg for help. If I cut the first line why does the crap after it show up? Do i have to cut it and then somehow hide the rest of it?

OK, go into the html view for your entry. There should be two tags (bits of text) inside triangular brackets like these < >. One will say {lj cut} and the other {/lj cut}. Hightlight, cut and then paste the one that reads {/lj cut} at the end of your entry text. That should work.

This stupid website I found forgot to tell me to put the end tag at the end of the whole damn thing grrrrrrrr.

Now I get to post more stuff and not feel bad that it's taking up so much space on my friend's update pages.

Excellent, I knew you would! It takes a bit of getting used to but once you get the hang of it it's a piece of absolute piss (as Eames might say :D).
