((What antivirals and spyware programs do you have on there? You could try running AdAware or another spam filter thingy... also, check your wires, and make sure none of the plugs have jiggled loose (our DSL line likes to sit funny in the router and kill my connection here).))
((I really do appreciate it. I wish I could offer some helpful words on how to fix the problem. Do you think it could be the internal modem/airport card or something similar? Or do those work elsewhere and it's just the home connection giving you trouble?))

The wires have been checked and re-checked. A couple of kind people have already tried to help. The general consensus is: It's weird.

It could be something inside the laptop. The plan is to take it in to the shop tomorrow. No worries.))
