::The past forty-eight or so hours had been deeply frustrating. No matter how many times he watched and rewatched the surveillance footage, no matter how many different ways he attempted to analyse the hardware the Fujimiya girl had left behind, no matter how many people he vented his annoyance on, Nagi was still perplexed, down one piece of new equipment (the device that had looked to be some form of light projector had exploded during his initial scan), and unable to get rid of his headache.

Crawford didn't know anything. The telephone conversation had been polite and to the point. Yes, Takatori Mamoru was so far pleased with his efforts. No, there were no difficulties - on his end at least - with working for a former kitten. Did Crawford have any reason to believe there would be difficulties? ...With anything? No? All right then ( ... )

She goes still for a moment, thinking of the picnics she used to go on with her Nagi.

"That's not what I brought you here for."

She tries to bring down a 'bubble' around him, to keep him and his powers inside. She reaches out with her power feel, trying to find out if she can overpower them, or if there is any small break.

::Nagi lashes out with his powers as Aya brings hers down, and they collide with a stink of ozone. When did she get so strong? It's almost as though... oh, that's where he knows these energies from. The old bastards, but condensed. No, not condensed. Amplified. More, but not as focussed. Nagi would be cursing in seven different languages if he could spare the energy. As it is, he lets his telekinetic barrier slip just enough that Aya's 'bubble' forms intact around him, although if she thinks she'll find a crack in his defenses, she'll have to try harder than that. She might be stronger than he is, but she doesn't seem to have his control over her powers.::

::He lets the slightest quiver enter his voice as he answers::

No, you brought me here to kill me, right?

She makes a small, soft noise at the hitch in his voice. He's probably playing her, but it's nice to hear anyway.

"Yes," she answers quietly. "I'm sorry." She looks angry at herself for apologizing.

She doesn't know how she incinerated things before. It was a reaction to being scared.

((Dude, I'm sorry. The people that manage the Internet for my building said something about fiber cables or some such being the problem, but really it's probably just the Internet being evil.))

((Everyone I know who has the same provider out here was having problems that night, too, but I'm going with the internet just being evil. We WILL get this thread writ, dammit! *g*))

((Borrowing my grandmother's computer to say: My Internet woes continue.

Vont Media Services is saying they are once again having problems with "fiber feeding cables". And there seems to be additional problems with my laptop, because I tried to pay to use a wireless connection at an Internet cafe, and could not get it to work.

I'm trying to arrange to get a back-up computer, which may not be much help if whatever is wrong with the high speed internet connection in my building isn't fixed.))
