Aya nods her head respectfully. It seems perfectly natural that Hakkai would have friends in his home at a time like this, so it has not occurred to her that anything is wrong with Kou being there.

She tries to speak, but her throat is suddenly too dry. She clears her throat.

"I'm here to see --" Her voice breaks.

"Do you think Hakkai would want to see me?"

She isn't going to cry, dammit.

::Jien hears Aya-chan at the door, and feels a bit guilty that he never got around to that picnic. But he's making some food, so he just shouts from the kitchen::

You wanna come in and stay for dinner?
