“He doesn't understand- Hound gets it, right? That I wasn't-”

“Maybe he did,” Sideswipe said, as nicely as he could.

Oh. Oh, this hurt.

Everyone's on uncertain ground right now, ah? And Sunstreaker-- this is a tough chapter.

But a good one! Inside I'm going 'updateupdateupdate~!' right now. :D

Thank you so much! You always say the perfect things--I love your comments! So thank you. ♥

(...I know it's been forever, but I will be updating relatively soon? On the off chance you're still interested! I'm such a slow writer sometimes, it's terrible...)

More is coming! Very soon now, but--I realize it's been a terribly long time since you've commented.

Thank you so much for your comments, and it's wonderful that you enjoyed the story! Hound/Twins is my not-so-secret crack pet pairing, so I love it when other people agree.

On the off chance that you're still interested (and I know it's been forever!) the next chapter will be up soon. Thank you once more!

D:

Oh, Sunstreaker. Him understanding what he did makes it both better and so much worse, poor guy. And I agree with pennieblack, that one line really wrapped up the emotions from all the major players here in one painful little line.

Thank you so much! I really appreciate your review--and I'm so sorry that it's taken me so long to reply, and so long to update! I promise, I really do love your comments, I'm just so bad at responding...

Making Sunstreaker sympathetic has been very interesting! And a challenge, I'm glad I'm succeeding--because I in no way want to make it seem like his actions are acceptable, sane or reasonable, while at the same time not vilifying him. It's a fine line to walk, and it's so nice to hear that I'm succeeding!

Once again, thank you so much.

Once more, I am replying far, far too late to your amazing, amazing review. D: Thank you so, so much, Snare! You always say the perfect thing--it just blows me away.

It's really interesting you bring up Sunstreaker's vulnerability--because it's exactly that, although I haven't thought about it in those terms before. It's so much a bigger thing for him because, yeah, Hound's upset and on edge and unhappy, but he's a much more balanced, healthy person--unlike Sunstreaker. The one time he tries to reach out and begins forming that connection, only to have it all fall apart around him--it really is a tragedy. And it's his own fault, because there is only overcompensation and violence in how he knows how to act. So yes, he's definitely sympathetic, but he's not in the right--which has been interesting to write! And hopefully interesting to read ( ... )

Oh. Just...oh. This chapter hurt, but oh so beautifully.

The way you portray Sunstreaker's actions make them seem so...reasonable, while at the same time showing just how extreme and irrational they are to virtually everyone else. The scene where he's watching Hound with Trailbreaker and Mirage had so much pathos, illustrating the problem with painful clarity - he's on the outside looking in, envying the ease of their interaction and frustrated by his own inability to achieve the same.

And Hound - I ache for him, too. He'd finally settled into a sort of uneasy acceptance of the twins and Sunstreaker especially, something they could have built on, and then it all came crashing down, ironically as a result of that very acclimation. His feelings of betrayal make it abundantly clear just how far they'd come, and how much they've lost.

I hope you're planning another update soon, because I'm dying to see how you're going to salvage this, if indeed you do. Edge. Of. My. Seat!

I know it's been far, far too long--but I love all your comments, and especially this one, and I wanted to make sure that I gave it a proper response before the next chapter goes up--which has also taken far too long, I know!

You wrote me the most lovely feedback; it's so clear that you understood everything I was trying to do--which shows that I succeeded! And you put it all so beautifully. That sense of tragic misunderstanding, the inevitability, how Hound's caught in a situation he doesn't really understand, can't fully understand, and how Sunstreaker's trapped in his own problems, and can't really make it work.

Like you say, Hound's hurt because Sunstreaker matters--and vice versa--and he lost it all before he even realized that. I'm hoping to emphasize that further as we continue!

I hope you're still interested (although of course I understand if you've moved on! It has been a long time, and tastes change) and if you are, the next chapter should be up very soon--within a few days.

Still interested? Pff - I never abandon a good fic, no matter how long to goes between updates. I can wait FOREVER.

...which is not to say I'm not squeeing my head off at the thought of a new chapter, because OMG ~*SQUEE!*~ You just made my week.
