i would have said this in the rules post, where i found the link, but i am banned from posting there because i stated that i thought the quality of the pictures being posted has been decreasing.
Thanks! I was somewhat baffled too, because, false modesty aside, I think this is a pretty good shot.
But yeah, I've been less than impressed with the quality of photos in bestshot as of late... Part of it may be the new moderation, but also it seems that a lot fewer people have been posting lately. I think malady_dome has been the spirit behind bestshot, soliciting people to join and post and maintaining the atmosphere, and it's just not the same without her.
If you hover over the picture, it'll tell you details about how it was taken. There's a joke among photojournalists that the trick to taking awesome pictures is "f9 and be there". I guess this is one of those cases :)

yeah, photos like yours used to be posted frequently, but now they are denied quite often.
i cant say im real impressed with the new moderator. in the least.
